Can I try the API before paying?
Yes, you can try the API with 100 free screening requests. The trial is available once per account and allows you to test integration, response structure, and matching performance before upgrading to a paid plan.
How are screening requests counted?
Each screened subject counts as one request. If you send multiple subjects in a single API call, each subject is counted separately. For example, screening three subjects in one request counts as three requests. This applies to both single and batch screening.
Do you charge for failed or errored requests?
No. Only successfully processed requests (HTTP 200 OK) are counted. Failed requests due to server errors or invalid API keys do not count toward your monthly usage.
What happens if I exceed my monthly screening limit?
Your API access is not blocked if you exceed your monthly limit. Any additional screening requests are billed automatically at your plan's rate and added to your monthly invoice. You are responsible for monitoring your usage through your dashboard or logs.
Do unused requests roll over to the next month?
No. Monthly limits reset at the start of each billing cycle. This ensures we can maintain high-performance infrastructure for all users.
Are there rate limits on each plan?
Yes. The standard rate limit is 5 requests per second (RPS). Each request supports up to 20 subjects, allowing you to screen up to 100 subjects per second. Higher limits are available on enterprise plans for high-throughput, real-time sanctions screening.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan anytime?
Yes, you can change your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately, with prorated billing and increased limits applied instantly. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle, and your current plan remains active until the end of the period.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your OFAC API subscription at any time directly from your account. There are no long-term contracts or lock-ins. Your access remains active until the end of your current billing period, after which it will not renew.
Do you offer custom plans for higher-volume usage?
Yes. We offer custom plans for high-volume and enterprise use cases. If you need higher rate limits, larger monthly volumes, or tailored pricing, contact us to get a custom quote.
How often is sanctions data updated?
Sanctions data is updated every 15 minutes using official sources such as the U.S. Department of the Treasury and OFAC. This provides near real-time access to updates across the SDN and Consolidated Sanctions Lists.
What data sources are included in each plan?
All plans include access to official U.S. sanctions data published by OFAC, including the SDN (Specially Designated Nationals) List and the Consolidated Sanctions List (Non-SDN). Additional data sources may be included in higher-tier plans over time.
